DREAM ON! FOR POLITICAL TRUTH AND ACTION

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Julius Caesar dreamt of sleeping with his mother, signaling he would successfully conquer Rome, the mother city. The Biblical Pharaoh of Egypt in a dream saw seven fat and seven lean cows; Joseph’s interpretation of seven years of abundance and seven years of famine saved the nation from starvation and reunited Joseph with his family. President Johnson had a dream he was stuck in the middle of a big river, symbolizing the intractable war in Vietnam; the dream led to Johnson’s withdrawal from the 1968 presidential race. hoping  his move would shorten the war.

As dreams became a therapeutic modality or a New Age touchstone, their value as a transformational political tool vanished. We can revive the guiding, healing, truth-telling attributes of dreams and use them to achieve our social change goals.

Whether your mission is to conduct a massive information campaign about 9/11 truth or bring peace to a troubled world or find legal justice for Bush administration officials, your dreams can guide you. Your dreams will show you how to call upon your personal talents and passions to make a positive contribution.

As a political journalist, I now know reporting is insufficient to achieve positive social and political change. So, in addition to writing about  politics and profiling political activists who use their dreams, I am teaching dream guidance social change.

To achieve your purpose, you will learn how to remember and recognize political dreams, understand what your dreams are telling you, create and realize an action agenda and connect with a community of others committed to truth, justice, and change.

Let’s make it happen. Please complete the form below to find out about Dream On! Consults, Groups, and Workshops and I’ll contact you to explore the possibilities.

Increase awareness of the transformative power dreams and tap into their vast wisdom. Dreams can guide us on our true path. Their symbols, personal and universal, are jewels bearing precious gifts. In Dreaming as Sacred Practice, enrich your experience of nocturnal narratives through dream sharing, journaling, and creative expression. Explore how others use dreams for greater awareness, how to remember and understand your dreams, and how to apply their messages to empower your life.

Joyce Lynn has led dream groups for more than 15 years. She combines training as an educator and experience as a journalist writing about dreams and metaphysical matters with years of contemplative practices. Joyce authored Plum Dreams Diary, a collection of insights about mothers, men, modern medicine, and the nature of the Divine. She is creating the Pink Rose Society, a dream-sharing community.

Here is what one dream guidance student wrote Joyce, “Thank you all for helping me become more secure in my expression of my innermost self. I have gone from FEAR to looking forward to each assignment.” –RP, California
